Midwest Living Review
One of the biggest antiques shops in downtown Arthur (the town at the center of Illinois' Amish country), Yoder's is jam-packed with a huge variety of old stuff. In addition to old-fashioned gas lamps and farm implements, Yoder's specialties include seed bags marked with various agricultural logos hanging from the ceiling. Cast-iron skillets, antique toys, a Victrola ($275), a large wooden airplane propeller ($795), a gas stove, glass bottles, stereoscopic photos, Raggedy Ann dolls -- these are just a few of the many miscellaneous objects displayed in the sprawling store. There's also a wall of new landscape paintings by local artists. The owners conversed with each other in the German dialect that's spoken in local Amish homes, readily switching to English when customers had questions.
