Midwest Living Review
The Discovery Center Museum is packed with interactive exhibits. Kids can build robots, dig for dinosaurs or produce a television newscast. Displays present science on a child's level, like the one explaining the physics of roller-coaster rides. There's a planetarium and an art studio, and for children under 6, there's the Tot Spot with six rotating exhibits. Rock River Discovery Park, an outdoor science area behind the two-floor center, is expanding; it's scheduled to reopen in late spring 2010. Discovery Center is just one of three attractions in Rockford's Riverfront Museum Park for the Arts & Sciences, which also includes Rockford Art Museum and the Burpee Museum of Natural History. (Park once, and see three museums.) Admission is charged.
