Midwest Living Review
Open since 2006, Jan Chandler's Heartland Gallery sells a mix of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and crafts by local artists as well as artists from Ireland. Celtic themes dominate, and just about everything in the gallery has a touch of the Irish. But the wide selection of art is actually fairly diverse, ranging from almost abstract, rainbow-like paintings to ceramic objects based on traditional Celtic decorative patterns. Heartland Gallery also sells Irish-theme gifts, and the gallery occasional hosts performances by Irish musicians, as well as dancers, storytellers and actors. Most of the art and knickknacks for sale at Heartland are the usual kind of thing you'd expect at an Irish-theme store. The quality isn't as strong as the Cinema Gallery next door, but people who love all things Irish will probably enjoy browsing.
