Midwest Living Review
If you want to see Galena from a new perspective, Fever River Outfitters has you covered. You can rent bikes, canoes, kayaks and motor scooters by the hour and the day. Among the more popular options is a newer scooter tour to Galena Cellars Vineyard, about 12 miles outside of Galena. It's not cheap -- from $65 but it's a nice way to get away from the crowded downtown streets, feel the breeze in your hair and see a little scenery. Guides escort you to the vineyard, where you'll tour the operation and then sample the wares in a tasting room set up in a charming old country house. At the end, there's no need to worry about being tipsy and having to navigate your way back: Fever River Outfitters provide a shuttle. Fever River offers a similar scooter tour to New Diggings, Wisconsin, which is a historic lead mining area. The price is the same, and while there you check out a "rustic saloon" called Anton's, which has a beer garden, and the adjoining General Store. Again, a lift back to town is part of the experience.
