Sophisticated decor meets historic limestone exterior at this amazing B&B near Rockford.

Copperstone Inn creates a new category of B&Bs -- the finest in 21st-century relaxation and comfort in a charming 19th-century country estate. Crafted around a modest two-room 1858 limestone home in the countryside near Rockton, Illinois (100 miles northwest of Chicago), the inn is an expansive 8,000-foot resort dedicated to the relaxing solitude of guests. Enjoy bucolic delights of picking apples from the organic orchard, walking the trails through an oak grove or curling up beside a gas fireplace in one of the three sitting rooms throughout the inn. Or veg out with modern technological delights like a theater room with a 60-inch flat-screen TV, stereo surround sound, and 400 downloaded movies (with many current titles available). Take a soak in the hot tub house, or grill your dinner on a massive stone barbeque (there's an iPod hookup next to the grill, so you can enjoy your own supper tunes). Or take your pampering to the next level with a couples massage ($210) or pedicure ($70) at the inn's spa. Back in your room (from $199 to $379 per weekend night in spring/summer/fall), you'll relax with lush beds, flat-screen TVs with satellite programming, hot tubs and double-headed showers. Turn on the flames in your flickering gas fireplace, turn on some soothing music with your in-room stereo system, and forget about any cares beyond the gates of the Copperstone Inn. You've got your very own private country estate for the weekend.
