On a peak weekend, you'll find hundreds of cars and motorcycles packing the parking lot at Blue Sky Winery. It's a perfect fall destination and a great place to finish a tour of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. You can book suites here and enjoy a Portuguese breakfast in the morning, or order pizzas, salads, sandwiches and desserts as a day visitor. Most, though, go with a classic bread-and-cheese plate to complement wines such as the popular, tart Chambourcin Reserve. With stucco tiles and exposed brick, the theme is Tuscan, with a peaceful waterfall and hilly grounds that slope to a lake. On busy weekends, you'll likely be treated to live music, as well. Grab a patio table decorated with famous works of art and kick back for awhile.
