The following events were supplied to us by festival organizers and tourism offices throughout the state, and selected by Midwest Living editors. 3 Trails, 3 Days

Bay City, September 18-20
Experience 3 Rail Trails in 3 days. Friday kicks off the festivities with The Bay Country Rail Trail, which starts in Bigelow Park. Day two will begin with the Midland's Pere Marquette Rail Trail. Check-in at the Tridge, which will also include a participant picnic from 2-4 pm. On the third day, you will close with The Saginaw Valley Rail Trail at Van Wormer Road. Downtown Bay City Wine Walk

Bay City, September 24
The 11th annual Wine Walk will showcase all of Downtown Bay City's fantastic eateries and pubs. Meet, make friends and enjoy the sounds of musical entertainment around every corner while strolling through Bay City's historic downtown.

River of Time Living History Encampment

Bay City, September 25 - 27
The River of Time Living History Encampment started in 1990. It is a free, educational event for people of all ages. Re-enactors from around the Midwest come to dress and live the roles of folks from a more simplistic, if sometimes, more difficult time. Hell's Half Mile Film & Music Festival

Bay City, October 1- 4
Hell's Half Mile Film & Music Fest is back for the third year. It's on its way to becoming Bay City's favorite new festival! HHM Fest is a volunteer organization and operated as a partnership with the Bay Arts Council. The festival was created to bring fantastic films and original music to an area of Michigan that rarely sees much outside of the mainstream. Fall Downtown Divas

Bay City, October 8 - 10
This event is a great introduction to the fall and holiday season with pampering, time with friends and shopping for the must-haves of the season. Autumn Color Tour River Sail aboard the Appledore

Bay City, October 10
In October, as the leaves begin to change and the temperature starts to cool, the Appledore IV changes its course and begins its popular two-hour autumn color tour sails. Sailing upriver on the Saginaw, passengers will enjoy hot cider, chili and cornbread while keeping a sharp eye out for the Bald Eagles, Snowy Egrets and of course, the lovely colors. Bay County Historical Society: Tour of Homes

Bay City, October 11
Travel back in time to the mid-1800's when Bay City's lumber barons and shipping magnates built stately mansions in Bay City's historical districts. The Tour of Homes allows admirers of wonderful architecture to take a sneak peek inside a few of these magnificent mansions. For more information, call 989.893.5733.

Bay Arts Council Presents the "Haunted Temple" Tour

Bay City, October 16-17
The event features a guided tour conducted by members of a scientific team embedded in the building to investigate reports of paranormal activity in the Historic District. Visitors will encounter a haunting of a whimsical, yet creepy nature, through a building populated by turn-of-the-century and vintage ghosts and ghouls! Tours are between 7:00 and 11:00 pm at the Bay City Masonic Temple on the corner of Madison and 6th Street. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6.00 for students and seniors over 65.
