Where You Can Celebrate Stranger Things Season 3 in the Midwest

Excited for the next season of Stranger Things? Check out these Midwest events.

Stranger Things fans, the Midwest knows you want more. You’ve already set aside time to watch the debut of the next season on July 4, but here are ways to amp up your fun.

Indianapolis Marriott Downtown | Indianapolis

Hawkins, Indiana—the setting for Stranger Things—is a fictitious town, but you can visit the real Indiana! Book “The Upside Down Hotel Package” for a themed viewing that includes Netflix access and collectible goodies to help you lounge before, during and after watching the show. The festive package starts at $209/night and is available through September 28.

Gallery Pastry Shop | Indianapolis

No Eggo waffles (a favorite of the show’s Eleven), but customized macarons (available through July 7) will still satisfy your sweet tooth. The treats can be purchased as two-packs for $5 or 6-packs for $15. (Side note: a Limited Edition 1985 Eggo box is available in select stores this month.)

Laser Stranger Things | Kansas City, Missouri

Just when you thought were stuck listening to the show’s soundtrack on repeat…visit Science City at Union Station and grab a seat in The Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium to experience the 80s music and other Stranger Things acoustics through a laser light show. Showtimes are July 5 at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Stranger Con | Rosemont, Illinois

Not able to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend? No worries. Purchase a ticket to #StrangerCon in the Chicago area. Gather with fellow fans by meeting celebrity guests who star in the series, put your knowledge to the test in Yes/No Trivia games, and compete in the cosplay contest from October 5-6.

Baskin-Robbins | Participating Midwest locations

Although the Upside Down universe is fictional, these eats are all too real. Savor the retro vibes with dessert at Baskin-Robbins. The ice cream chain offers frozen creations such as the Demgorgon Sundae and Elevenade Freeze in their new line honoring the Netflix series. Alongside your scoops, stores will have limited-edition merchandise for sale to help you set the sci-fi scene.

The Science Museum of Minnesota | Saint Paul

Want to match Stranger Things character Dustin Henderson? Now is your chance. Bring his Season Two, Episode One outfit to life by purchasing gear from museum's Dino Shop. Hoodies….t-shirts…baby onesies… there’s so much to choose from. The clothing can be found at the onsite gift shop or on their website. (If you're in the area: Head southeast to honor actress Winona Ryder by visiting Olmsted County, where she was born, and the city she was named after, Winona.)
