But modern Stockholm (population: 96, located 60 miles southeast of Saint Paul) got its start in the 1970s, when artists began discovering the beauty along Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River.
Situated along the popular Great River Road, Stockholm offers small-town charm as well as river scenery.
