Heartland Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- 4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes or regular potatoes (about 1-1/4 pounds)
- 1/2 cup whipping cream or milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter or butter
- 1 to 2 teaspoons bottled minced roasted garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions
1. Peel and quarter potatoes. Cook, covered, in a small amount of boiling lightly salted water for 20 to 25 minutes or until tender; drain.
2. Mash with a potato masher or beat with an electric mixer on low speed. Add whipping cream, butter, garlic, salt, white pepper, and ground nutmeg. Beat until light and fluffy. Makes 6 side-dish servings.
