Six-ingredient oven fries bake tender with a crisp exterior, offering a healthier alternative to fried potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound medium baking potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2-1 1/4 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees . Cut the potatoes lengthwise into 1/2-inch-thick wedges. Transfer to a large bowl. Add oil, garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat. Arrange potato wedges in a single layer in a lightly greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan (lined with heavy-duty foil, if you like).
  2. Bake for 12 minutes. Carefully turn potato wedges; sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes more or until potatoes are tender and golden. Serve immediately.
