Darjeeling tea has more floral notes than ordinary black tea. For a boozy drink, add a tablespoon of vodka, gin or bourbon to each glass before pouring in punch.

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 inches fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup loose-leaf Darjeeling tea or other loose-leaf black tea
  • 3/4 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed (half of a 12-ounce can)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices or thin lemon wedges

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water and ginger to boiling. Remove from heat. Add tea. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve and transfer to a 11/2-quart pitcher. Add lemonade concentrate and honey, stirring until honey is dissolved. Cool for 30 minutes then chill, covered, for at least 4 hours or up to 24 hours. To serve, stir punch and pour into ice-filled glasses. Garnish with lemon slices.

  • Make it boozy For a single cocktail, stir 1 tablespoon vodka, gin or bourbon into an ice-filled glass; add punch.
