  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup herb-seasoned stuffing mix or toasted bread cubes*
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 10 - ounce pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese (2 oz.)
  • 4 whole wheat reduced-calorie hamburger buns, split and toasted, or baguette-style French bread slices
  • Toppers, such as crumbled feta cheese, plain yogurt, sliced roasted red sweet peppers, thinly sliced cucumber, and/or sliced red onion (optional)


  1. In a bowl combine the first five ingredients (through pepper). Add stuffing mix, stirring to coat. Stir in eggs, spinach, and the 1/2 cup feta. Using your hands, shape into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
  2. Heat a griddle or large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add patties and cook 10 to 12 minutes or until browned and heated through, turning once. Serve in buns with desired toppers.


  • *Tip Cut four 1/2-inch slices of baguette-style French bread into 1/2-inch cubes. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a 300 degrees F oven 10 minutes; let cool.
