The fastest way to downgrade a margarita (or any drink) isn't cheap tequila; it's bottled lime juice. Dig out that squeezer and pull up your sleeves. It's worth it.

  • 1/2 cup gold (oro) tequila
  • 1/3 cup orange liqueur
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups frozen mango chunks* or frozen peach slices
  • 2 cups frozen unsweetened whole strawberries
  • 2 cups ice cubes

  1. In a blender combine tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, sugar, mango chunks, and strawberries. Cover; blend until smooth. With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid until mixture becomes slushy. Pour mixture into glasses. Makes 5 (6-ounce) servings.

  • * If using fresh mango, place cubes in a single layer in a shallow baking pan lined with plastic wrap. Cover and freeze 1 hour. Transfer to a freezer bag or container for longer storage.
