Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman of the blog A Beautiful Mess share one of their favorite holiday sippers, eggnog spiked with vanilla vodka and amaretto.


  • Honey
  • Brown sugar
  • 3 ounces eggnog (without alcohol)
  • 1 ounce vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 ounce amaretto
  • Ice cubes
  • Ground nutmeg and cinnamon sticks


  1. Drizzle some honey and brown sugar on separate plates. Dip the rim of a martini glass into the honey and then the brown sugar.
  2. Add the eggnog, vodka and amaretto to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake until very cold. Strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a bit of freshly grated nutmeg and a cinnamon stick.


  • Note from Laura: So simple but elegant! I love how the brown sugar rim looks, and it tastes so good when you get a bit of it mixed in with the drink. This is definitely my favorite way to enjoy a bit of egg nog over the holiday season and get those special sips in while I can. Hope you get a bit of nog in your noggin as well!
