Whip together the fruit and cream mixture in just 10 minutes, then put it in your ice cream maker. Even the kids can help make this easy dessert.

  • 4 cups half-and-half, light cream, or milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened blackberries, fresh raspberries, or fresh sliced, peeled peaches
  • 2 cups whipping cream

  1. In a large bowl, mix half-and-half, sugar, and vanilla. Stir to dissolve sugar.
  2. In a blender, cover and blend the fruit until nearly smooth. Sieve fruit, if you like. Stir fruit and whipping cream into sugar mixture. Freeze in a 4- to 5-quart ice cream freezer according to the manufacturer's directions. Makes 2 quarts (16 servings).
