Perfect-Ending Brownies

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, cut up
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup cake flour or all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 recipe Chocolate Glaze (see recipe below)
- Chopped pecans (optional)
Directions
1. Grease an 8x8x2-inch baking pan. Set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter and chocolate. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat and cool.
3. Stir eggs, one at a time, into chocolate mixture. Stir in sugar, corn syrup (if you like), and vanilla.
4. In a bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into chocolate mixture. Stir in the 1 cup pecans, if you like.
5. Spread into prepared baking pan. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 35 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack. Drizzle with Chocolate Glaze and sprinkle with additional pecans, if you like. Makes 9 giant brownies.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces semisweet chocolate, cut up
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 2 - 3 teaspoons hot water
Directions
In small saucepan, melt chocolate and butter or over low heat, stirring often. Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar and enough hot water (2 to 3 teaspoons) to make a drizzling consistency.
