Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • dash salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/3 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 -3 tablespoons milk

Directions

  1. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add granulated and brown sugars. Beat until thoroughly combined.
  3. Add egg, the 1/3 cup peanut butter, the baking soda, vanilla, and salt. Beat until thoroughly combined. Stir in flour and oats. Spread into prepared pan.
  4. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are light brown.
  5. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces; let stand for 5 minutes to soften.
