Drizzle this warm, delectable sauce over ice cream for a sweet, homemade treat.

  • 1/2 cup butter or unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half or light cream
  • 1/2 cup light-color corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. In a medium saucepan combine butter, half-and-half, light-color corn syrup and brown sugar. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until mixture boils. Reduce heat; boil gently for 3 minutes more, stirring frequently. Stir in vanilla. Serve warm (mixture may need to be lightly stirred or whisked again before serving). Chill leftovers, covered, for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving*.

  • To reheat: Place any leftovers in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on 100% (high) power for 30 to 45 seconds or until just warm, stirring once.
