Created by Roger Landes, a former bartender at The Loyalist in Chicago, this hot toddy is sweet and lightly herbal, thanks to the Italian liqueur Strega.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces bourbon, such as Johnny Drum
  • 1/2 ounce Liquore Strega or yellow Chartreuse
  • 1/4 ounce pure maple syrup
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • 3 ounces hot water

Directions

  1. In a small glass or mug with a handle, combine bourbon, Strega, maple syrup and bitters. Top with hot water; serve immediately.
