Beef-on-Rye Canapes
Chill: Up to24 hrs
Ingredients
- 4 ounces deli-style roast beef, finely chopped
- 1/2 8 ounce tub cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon ground mace
- 24 slices party rye or white bread
- Fresh herbs (we liked chives, oregano or basil), and/or sliced radishes, cucumber, green onion tops or olives (optional)
Directions
1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine roast beef, cream cheese, green onion, black pepper and mace. Cover and chill up to 24 hours.
2. To assemble canapes, spread 1 to 2 teaspoons of the beef spread on top of each bread slice. If you like, garnish with fresh herbs or other toppings as you like. Makes 24 canapes.
