medium Granny Smith apple, cored and chopped

dried cranberries, golden raisins or snipped dried apricots

chipotle-flavor bottled hot pepper sauce

Directions
- In a 4- or 5-quart Dutch oven, combine salsa, hominy, beans, chicken broth, apple, cranberries, cocoa powder, chili powder and bottled hot pepper sauce. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
- Just before serving, stir in cashews. If you like, garnish each serving with slivered or chopped apple and/or a lime wedge.
