A light, fresh attitude fills both the physical setting of the Bluefront Cafe and the menu. The restaurant—in a clapboard building on the edge of Sturgeon Bay—features painted concrete floors, contemporary artwork and plenty of natural light. The lunch menu ($5-$13) focuses on sandwiches, wraps and salads. You’ll find standards like a smoked turkey sandwich and an Asian chicken wrap. But most have more of a foodie spin than you find in most small-town lunch spots. The smoked turkey is from Neuske’s, and the burger uses certified-humane Angus beef. We especially liked the fish tacos, which included pan-fried tilapia, a chipotle sauce and cilantro salsa. Salads include options like the Thai shrimp salad, which includes wild shrimp, Thai noodles, peanut rice cilantro and spicy-sweet chili sauce. The dinner menu ($9-$22) presents options such as Thai shrimp wontons and cherry barbecue pork ribs. Microbrews and wine are also available.
