Renaissance
Editor's Review
Shelves laden with unique treasures aren’t the only things worth exploring at Renaissance, a charming little shop in downtown Cape Girardeau. The building itself has a fascinating history, dating back to the days of the Louisiana Purchase. Even the decorative tin ceiling has a story to tell: When building owners Sherry and Michael Yaeger took down the ornate panels for hand-sanding and restoration, they discovered beautiful Victorian-Era wallpaper underneath.
These days, that same wallpaper and tin ceiling make a perfect backdrop for the shop’s bounty of delicate knickknacks, floral accents, vintage jewelry, art and much more. The store is open Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays.
