The Inn at Okoboji is an attractive destination for families thanks to a variety of on-site activities (big band music nights, sing-along nights) and a location convenient to Arnolds Park Amusement Park. One of the first resorts in the Okoboji area, this full-service hotel isn’t luxurious, but it does offer good value for the money. Since the original building burned down in 1934, they've rebuilt and added buildings through the decades, creating a hodgepodge of structures that can be somewhat confusing to navigate. The decor gives the place a casual, comfortable feel, which is part of the draw for the many guests who return again and again for family vacations and reunions.
Accommodations include 156 guest rooms: standard hotel rooms, kitchenettes, suites, poolside suites and a cottage designed for multifamily gatherings. A conference center capable of serving several hundred people is above the main building next to a nine-hole par-three golf course. Other amenities include a marina to dock and rent watercraft, indoor and outdoor pools, sand volleyball, a coffee shop, a bar, a restaurant, playground and grills for cooking a burger or two. Summer rates run $140 to $170; in the off-season, rooms go for $80 to $100.
At just 500 feet, the inn’s lakefront is narrow and there’s no sand beach, but guests can swim off the boat dock, which is pretty much what everyone does at Okoboji.
