Old Market Candy Shop

Editor's Review
The name may not be overly appealing, but “mudballs” is fitting for the reigning chocolate at this sweet little shop. Bite into it, and it does indeed looks a little dirty. But it’s a light, creamy and deliciously dark center made from pulverized Oreos and cream cheese and covered in chocolate.
Other tempting favorites in the many candy cases include buttery, nutty wedges of chocolate-covered toffee and Old Market Candy’s chewy German chocolate logs made with vanilla fudge, crushed pecans and coconut folded with caramel. Chocolate-shop mainstays include nut clusters, peanut butter fluff cups, cashew caramel patties and a variety of truffles, caramels and filled chocolates. They also sell an impressive sugar-free selection of chocolates.
For kids (or grandparents), look for nostalgic candies such as Chick-o-stick and Necco wafers or novelty sweets such as gummi rats and cockroaches that seem especially fitting at Halloween.
We’ll happily stick with mudballs and toffee.
