Known for its cafeteria-style Asian eats, Pana 88 boasts a menu full of Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes bursting with bold flavors and seasonings. Diners order at the counter from a sizeable menu toward the back of the restaurant. Selections cover a wide range of items, from traditional sweet-and-sour chicken to more unusual concoctions like squid salad ($5.50) and peanut butter chicken ($7.25).
Everything on the menu costs less than $10, with the exception of the 24-piece Pana Wings ($15). Just watch out for hidden charges like the 25-cent brown rice upgrade or the additions of soup and salad. Most of these extra costs are mentioned on the menu but aren’t brought to customers’ attention when they’re ordering.
The Pana 88 atmosphere calls to mind a futuristic fast-food joint, far from the usual soothing decor and soft music of most Asian restaurants. But for a quick, tasty ethnic lunch, Pana 88 is a solid option.
