Open since February 2012, Buckeye Lake Brewery crafts several styles of beer for purchase by the pint ($4), half-pint ($2) or growler (1/2 gallon for $12, $9 for a refill). Housed in a beautifully renovated gas station that now boasts an industrial-chic flair (think concrete bar tops and exposed ductwork), the brewpub offers a resort-casual vibe in keeping with its scenic Buckeye Lake location.
A small patio sporting bright orange tables and chairs wraps around the front of the building, offering an unfortunate view of the busy main thoroughfare instead of the much nicer lake. Out back, the brewery’s private dockside carry-out service accommodates boaters as a pseudo drive-through. The friendly, enthusiastic staff is knowledgeable about the beer, all brewed on-site in small batches. Selections rotate frequently, but on any given visit might include wheat, blonde, Irish, stout, pale ale and IPA (taste them all with a sampler for $6).
Hungry? Buckeye Lake Brewery serves panini sandwiches and complementary popcorn; the nearby Pizza Cottage also delivers to the pub.
