Fresh, modern decor, comfortable rooms and an above-average dining counter make Courtyard Lima a nice option for overnights in Lima, Ohio.
A welcoming, modern lobby features ample seating, furniture with clean lines, a cafe with granite countertops, and a large, interactive touch-screen display displaying the weather, stocks information, news headlines, restaurant recommendations and local maps. Friendly and efficent staff make the check-in process a breeze.
The third-floor guest room had the basic layout and feel of a chain hotel but with nice touches: rust and cream and brown color scheme, nightstands with well-placed outlets for plugging in cell phones or computers, a spacious desk/work area, a big flat-screen television, a roomy bathroom with charming faux-wicker shelving to hold towels and toiletries, and a shower with great water pressure. Crabtree and Evelyn bath product samples? No complaints here! And the beds, arguably the most important feature, proved comfortable: ample pillows, a decent mattress and soft bedding.
In the morning, there's no free Continental breakfast, but the lobby cafe sells Starbucks coffee and a small menu of quality, made-to-order meals ($3-$5). Hearty oatmeal served with dried fruit and brown sugar, or a plate of French toast sprinkled with fresh strawberries and powdered sugar are worth a few bucks. As far as hotels go, Courtyard Lima hits all the right notes.
