The Sweet Spot

Editor's Review
This little mom-and-pop candy shop is Faribault’s sweetest destination with four cases full of chocolates and fudge, homemade ice cream and retro treats like Boston baked beans and Turkish taffy. Every turn offers new temptations, but customers are best-advised to stick with what’s homemade and unique. For instance, the salted dark chocolate fudge (the store’s biggest seller) or other unusual flavors such as red velvet with cream cheese, lemon, black cow, key lime and tiger butter—a blend of vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter.
Prefer traditional chocolates? The bear paws, a supersized turtle-ish recipe with milk or dark chocolate, pecans and caramel, are a delicious choice.
During the warm-weather months, the shop’s homemade ice cream brings in plenty of fans. The creamy selections vary but might include scrumptious chocolate caramel mocha, cake batter, peach mango and quad berry, a blend of raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. The vanilla caramel flavor sandwiched between snickerdoodle cookies makes for one decadent ice cream sandwich.
Watch for special Sweet Spot treats at June’s Faribault Heritage Festival and other local events.
