Featuring an ever-evolving group of exhibits, this popular local arts venue displays a wide variety of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and multimedia work. Different artists are highlighted each month to keep things fresh. Better yet, access to most exhibits is free to the public.
The arts center has had a presence in Northfield since 1959, when a group of like-minded locals got together to display creative output and host theatrical performances in a renovated church. These days, the center encompasses two buildings and all sorts of opportunities for creative types to express themselves. A nicely merchandised gift shop contains a collection of creative, locally made gift options; the jewelry made from salvaged pieces of bone china, vibrant hand-blown glass vases and quirky bird sculptures are particularly eye-catching.
