Cornerstone Shop and Gallery doesn’t look like anything special from the street. Even when customers first step inside, it looks to be nothing more than a pleasant store with glassware, lamps, tableware and some candles. The big secret is that Cornerstone is actually a lot larger than it appears, and everything in stock is high in quality and often unique in some way. There's easily enough here to keep even the most discriminating shop-aholic busy for a few hours.
Owner Karin Bennett buys her goods from 350 vendors. In addition to separating the store into about a dozen specialty areas, such as gardening, wine and baby gifts, she creates fun themed sections several times a year. Christmas is a fun time to browse; Karin transforms the shop into a holiday-themed extravaganza. In the candle department, shoppers can choose from quality lines like Root, Yankee Candle Co. and Kringle. Been looking all over for a Lang calendar? They’re in the stationery section, along with cards and other items. There’s even an “inspiration corner” filled with home decor pieces by Kelly Rae.
Cornerstone also carries beautiful handcrafted items from North American artisans for instance, handblown glass vases by Orient and Flume, William Nelson original oil paintings, and pottery by Wisconsin artist Bruce Johnson.
