Opened in 2011, this cute shop welcomes patrons with nutcrackers painted on a bright exterior red wall and a yellow front door. A huge collection of nutcrackers stands near the front. The brightly painted figures range from less than 6 inches to a couple of feet tall, and most have one-of-a-kind designs. Antiques and other decorative items assembled from 100 consigners pack this small retail space to the rafters. Though most are nicely displayed, some corners are quite crowded. During our Father's Day visit, a tiny alcove featured memorabilia from the Kansas City Royals amid a smattering of men's ties. An old-fashioned phone with wooden box and chrome ringers sat near a dressed troll doll and a well-loved Teddy bear. Anchoring a large area of the back room, an antique food concession cart with gorgeous colored glass displayed vintage silver and translucent antique glass serving pieces. An expansive old cabinet with glass doors held aged ceramic pieces for kitchen and tabletop, and even Santa Claus was there—a child-size figure seated behind a bright red table with hammer in hand. Greet the resident bird and dog, chat with the vivacious owner, and find a piece that simply must come home with you.
