With warm hardwood floors, a classy interior and a spacious open floor plan, Gardina's makes a perfect place to linger over a deliciously good Italian lunch or dinner.
Classic bruschetta ($6.99) starts meals off right with thick slices of lightly toasted bread, cherry tomatoes, gooey mozzarella and fresh basil, all drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The baked goat cheese salad ($7.99) is another solid choice, with pear, almonds, cranberries and balsamic dressing on a bed of spinach. The menu showcases mostly pizza and paninis, but the specials are worth considering: the penne with zucchini, tomatoes, sausage, pine nuts, mozzarella and basil in lemon oil sauce ($11.99) and flaky, flavorful salmon with dill sauce atop fingerling potatoes and roasted garlic asparagus both proved fantastic. If there’s any room for dessert, the individual-size chocolate lava cake ($3.95) is blissfully decadent.
A bow-tied waiter named “Boxx” provides outstanding service and is especially helpful with wine selections. And don’t miss browsing the well-stocked wine and cheese shop in the back half of the restaurant.
