Thai food enthusiasts will find plenty to like about Sweet Siam Thai Bistro. The understated dining room pairs black tables and chairs with warm and vibrant wall colors and large photographs of Thailand. In only six months, this restaurant has definitely worked out any initial culinary kinks. Everything tasted fresh, from the Bangkok Sunrise cocktail with tequila, gin, Triple Sec and fruit juices, to Pot Stickers served in addictive orange curry sauce with very approachable spiciness. Shrimp Masaman featured tail-on shrimp with crunchy cashews and creamy avocado slices. They bathed in another seductive curry sauce, with the right amount of heat. Mussels, served in their gorgeous green-brown shells, and delicate small scallops, merged with lightly breaded catfish and well-cooked squid on the Spicy Mixed Seafood plate. Homemade Crme Brulee with Real Vanilla Bean had a crunchy crust plus ultra-creamy custard, and Coconut Cake was a mammoth, coconut- festooned slice. The large menu includes Pad Thai, and many stir-fry and curry dishes. Menu verbiage can use some tweaking. 'Jumbo prawns' were actually jumbo shrimp, and the Spicy Mixed Seafood description lacked chile icons to denote it's spiciness. The server needed additional education about the menu and initially seemed to have responsibility for too many tables. With wait staff that aren't stretched quite so thin and more education about the menu, dining at Sweet Siam should become a truly stellar experience.
