Vitta Pizza sits at the entrance of Duluth’s Canal Park, right next to Caribou Coffee. The menu focuses on wood-fired pizzas with a handful of specialty pies and a build-your-own option, all showcasing chewy homemade crust and crushed San Marzano tomatoes. All the Neapolitan-style pizzas are 9 inches and cooked quickly at high temperatures in a wood-fired oven. The reasonably priced basic Margherita will only set you back $7.50; you can add on additional toppings for anywhere from 75 cents to $2 a pop. A $6 four-cheese pizza special featuring goat cheese, feta, mozzarella and Parmesan proved delish. Several salads include Caprese, Caesar and antipasto choices ($6.50 to $11).
