Giant's Ridge Lodge

Editor's Review
Families who check into this main lodge are right in the middle of the action with ski-in ski-out options, a pool, Aveda spa, Nordic ski trails, tubing hill, two golf courses, disc golfing, mountain biking and hiking -- not to mention great views from suites facing the wooded ridge. The 64-suite lodge built in 1999 blends luxury, modern amenities and an up-north decor with timbers, pine furniture, wildlife chain saw carvings and warm colors. Suites, which measure at 1,100 square feet, include kitchenettes, sitting areas and room for up to seven guests. Romantics can opt for a whirlpool. Suites with fireplaces and views of the ridge are ideal for warming up after a day outdoors and for watching nighttime skiing and boarding on the ridge. One-bedroom suites start at $149. Families gravitate to the indoor pool in winter and the heated outdoor one in summer. Other recreation includes tennis and basketball courts, sand volleyball, plus boat docks and a beach at nearby Wynne Lake. Anyone who wants to skip cooking and maximize time outdoors can dine on ale-battered walleye at the lodge's Timbers Restaurant or more casual Sticks Lounge.
