Editor's Review
During the summer, folks flock to Greens Fork for the Dutch Country Flea Market and Farmers Market.
Named for the Greens Fork River that flows along the western edge of the town, tiny Greens Fork (population: 423) isn't much more than a blip on the map between Richmond and Hagerstown. Local history says both the town and the river are a tribute to a Delaware Indian named Johnny Green, although the town was originally called Washington in honor of George Washington. Through the summer months, folks from around the region come to Greens Fork to attend the popular Dutch Country Flea Market and Farmers Market, held every Friday in a wide-open barn and rural space on US-38. In addition to the market, Greens Fork is home to a small library/museum, a recreational softball field, a family-run diner and a tavern called Lil Louie's.
