A big red barn and a usually full gravel parking lot signal you've reached this farm market in the rolling green countryside 3.5 miles west of Traverse City. Though farm markets dot the region, Gallagher's has gained a reputation as one of the best -- not only because of the quality of its goods but also because the farm is so family-friendly. Since 1971, generations of locals and visitors have taken home fresh cherries as well as pies, salsas and other creations from the market kitchen. Gallagher's offers a corn maze and pumpkin patch in the fall.
