Little Apple Brewing Company is a popular Mahanattan steer and beer establishment offering 26 hand-crafted brews and hunks of juicy tallgrass beef.
Hankering for juicy beef and hand-crafted beer? Head to Little Apple Brewing Company for both. Tucked in Westloop Shopping Center, the saloon-style restaurant draws a herd of cars. Russ and Kelly Loub own the popular Manhattan steak and suds establishment, open since 1978. Beer-brewing vats enclosed in a glass-wall room divide the lively bar from the dining room filled with wood-plank tables and high-backed leather booths. Informed servers explain differences in the 26 special and seasonal beers. Always on tap: five flagship brews featured in the Flight of Six Tasters ($6.50 for a 5-ounce pour of each). Sip, then pick your fave for a pint ($3.50). Just like the longhorns mounted on the wall, the menu goes on and on with appetizers, sandwiches, pizzas, etc. Chef Russ mixes it up with an ancillary gourmet menu offering highbrow appetizers and entrees. But you're here for the steer. Cuts of certified Angus beef range from the 7-ounce filet to 20-ounce porterhouse ($20 to $34). All come with salad, rolls, potato and green beans (kinda mushy). Of five fries variations, we like truffle with garlic aioli and curry-garlic ketchup (the wheat beer batter onion rings are equally delish). Still moo'in for more? Get beef and beer to go.
