This new downtown hotel offers glitzy lodging with Art Deco and Neoclassical stylefor an upscale price.
Housed in a restored 1930s-era building, Hotel Deco XV brings a new retro-hip factor to downtown Omaha. The hotel opened in May 2011, touting boutique luxury and personalized service. It lives up to the hype. Art Deco elements blend with new, sleek Neoclassical touches in a silver, black and white palette. You can easily imagine Tony Bennett having a post-show cocktail in the Encore lobby lounge. The 89 rooms and suites are pricey; expect to pay upwards of $200 per night, including taxes. But that steep room rate buys some nice perks. Valet parking, wireless Internet and an overnight shoe shine are complimentary. And though you might hear some street noise in your room, the mattresses are comfy, and the bathrooms feature eight-spray European shower panels. There is a fitness center, spa tub and sauna, but you won't find a pool. This is a great spot for couples or a group of girlfriends planning a weekend in the city. The Orpheum Theater is just across the street, and the Holland Performing Arts Center and the Old Market shopping and dining district are just a short walk away. The hotel restaurant, the Zin Room, offers a romantic atmosphere and delicious, upscale comfort food from a favorite local chef.
