Rawhide Ranch is easy to find just outside Nashville, Indiana, in Brown County. A winding gravel drive leads back into the property, past the main office and a small fishing pond, to the Buck Inn barn, the epicenter of the ranch. This is the only place to zip line in Brown County. Reservations are required for the one-hour sessions ($30 per person), and slots book up quickly. Calling a week or so ahead is advised. The zip-lining journey covers six "hops" totaling more than 1,100 feet, and the course gets progressively higher and steeper as you go along. Trail guides lead small group horseback rides (also $30 per person, reservations required) through dense woods along the Brown County State Park border and up and down some mild inclines. The whole experience is suitable for beginners and older kids; the actual ride lasts about 45 minutes. In addition to horseback riding and zip lining, Rawhide Ranch visitors can stay on site in one of 11 Buck Inn rooms. These rooms are on the top level of the barn, above the horse stalls, and offer access to two large common rooms with fireplaces and kitchenettes. Accommodations are fittingly decked out in rustic Western decor with cozy Amish-made hickory beds. Rates from spring through fall run $99 to $129, off-season rooms cost $79 to $109.
