Available only on Fridays, May through September, the American Legion Hamburger Stand turns out their famous Legion "sliders" until they sell out. They have been creating and selling burgers for the past 80 years. On the sunny June Friday we visited, most people in line were taking their sacks of burgers to Commons Park for an impromptu picnic. It's nothing fancy, but a perfect example of small-town American life that hasn't faded one bit.
