Cozy rooms, a Jacuzzi suite, two private hot tubs and a nicely landscaped gazebo on spacious grounds make this B&B ideal for a wedding or romantic getaway. At the same time, the large dining room, sunny breakfast area and airy living room are also fun for group gatherings. The location can be a little tricky to pinpoint, but the secluded forest setting is peaceful, not to mention within a convenient 15 to 20 minutes of many area attractions.
Food-lovers in particular will enjoy owner Isaac Hassoun's passion for cooking. He and his wife, Cindy, keep the inn open year-round in addition to operating their Bistro on the Terrace from June through Labor Day. Overnight stays aren’t required to kick back by the outdoor fire or under the heat lamps to enjoy tasty spanakopita ($13.95), roast chicken with orange glaze ($17.95) and beef-lamb kofta burgers with roasted red pepper and feta ($9.95). Dinners are available by reservation in the off-season, too.
During our stay, we feasted on flavorful brined pork chops, mashed potatoes, sugar snap peas and greens. For breakfast the following morning, the ham and cheese omelet seemed slightly underdone, but the Oregon trail bread packed with nuts and seeds was addictively good, especially when spread with homemade jam. The nine Black Forest Inn room options run from $75 to $160.
