Editor's Review

For more than 75 years, Erickson's has stocked the ingredients for a traditional feast.
Who doesn't long for a taste of home? In Andersonville, Chicago's historically Swedish neighborhood, that longing for traditional Swedish foods has been satisfied since 1925 by Erickson's Delicatessen. This little storefront is especially popular during the holiday season; expect that you'll have a bit of a wait to pick up the fixings for your Scandinavian smorgasbord. In addition to lingonberries (fresh, syrup, jam, juice), Erickson's stocks cheeses, salt licorice, pickled and smoked herring, Swedish brown beans, potato sausage, flatbread, cookies, chocolate and more. Almost everything is imported from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, so you can be sure you're getting the real deal.
