Housed in Cleveland's historic downtown Arcade building, Chocolate Bar makes a great, girly spot for dessert or late-night munchies, the perfect ending to a night out downtown.

Although Chocolate Bar serves a full menu, drinks and desserts are the real reasons to visit, and drinks disguised as dessert are undoubtedly a specialty. Detailing more than 20 martinis, with names like Creme Brulee, Strawberry Cheesecake and Peanut Butter Cup (all served with chocolate swizzle sticks), the drink menu reads more like flavors at an ice cream parlor. The Dirty Girl Scout is a standout, a grown-up Thin Mint-ish milkshake topped with whipped cream and an Oreo cookie. Hardcore chocoholics might try a flight of Chocolate Bar Shooters, shots of favorite spirits served in Belgian chocolate cups.

There are some chocolate-infused dishes on the main menu, like Chocolate Bar Pasta and Mexican pork tenderloin, but most of the menu is typical tavern fare. The toasted baguette drizzled with dark chocolate and sea salt and served with an olive oil-and-chocolate dipping sauce, however, is unusual and delicious, perhaps the ideal dinner-dessert crossover. Naturally, the dessert menu highlights chocolate cheesecake, ice cream, fondue, crepes, Make Your Own S’mores and Frozen Hot Chocolate.
