Kofusion's space is all curved lines and glowing colors, a cross between an aquarium and a swanky nightclub. In fact, aquariums sit right next to some of the tables, with underwater lights periodically changing from one color to another. TV screens show continuous loops of ocean waves. An electronic screen behind the bar simulates a waterfall. The music on the stereo tends to be techno-lounge and jazz, pulsating but not hyperactive. This is the sort of room that makes you feel cool just for sitting there.Kofusion serves sushi as well as other seafood, steaks and a mix of American and Asian cuisine. The kitchen uses natural meats, wild-caught seafood and local produce. A tasty bargain is available: sushi rolls for $1 each or a sampler (one of each of the 10 kinds) for $10. The selection includes a rainbow of colors and flavors, including fresh, flavorful ingredients ranging from tempura shrimp and tuna to omelets and steak. Most of the rolls are a little spicy, and even spicier when a dab of wasabi mustard is added. The sampler makes for a filling meal. Appetizers include crispy fried dumplings with a spicy red sauce for dipping. Several varieties of hot sake are available, along with teas, sweet dessert wines and a decent selection of wines. Sushi rolls cost around $6$18. Other entrees $10$20.
