Jules Cafe is ideally located for an intimate lunch, dinner or coffee stop right next to the Paramount Theatre and Art Gallery.
With local art on the walls and a location next to the Paramount Theatre and Arts District, Jules Cafe is an artsy, convenient and relaxing place for lunch or dinner. It's also refreshingly adult and intimate, with room for 40 diners at the tables and bar. For a light snack or appetizer, slather the crunchy bruschetta with creamy goat cheese and layer on their sweet dried fruit tapenade. There are 14 sandwiches, wraps and panini such as a house tuna salad served on olive-cheddar bread; a Caprese grill with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and pesto on honey white bread; and a grilled avocado portobello Reuben. We liked the smoky grilled taste and slight kick to the Philly grill, one of the rotating daily specials. One of the staples is a daily twist on the typical chili. It might be made with chipotle chicken, portobello mushrooms, four beans or a spicy blend of vegetables. You can mix and match sandwiches, soup and salad, picking two favorites. We tried one of the wood-fired pizzas, which was easily big enough for two to share. The sauce could have used more flavor, but a few shakes of parmesan made a difference. They also offer a special entree, such as angel hair with basil and shrimp, Tuesday and Thursday nights and a date-night special on Mondays and Wednesdays: a bottle of wine, appetizer and pizza.
