Just two blocks from Woodstock's historic square, Alexandria House B&B feels like visiting home.
Having been in the restaurant business for decades, Dot Rawlins, owner of the 1865 Alexandria House B&B, whips up a killer gourmet breakfast for guests staying in her Victorian home two blocks from the historic Woodstock square. Enjoy a breakfast of homemade sweet breads, fresh fruit salad, and a fluffy egg, cheese and ham sandwich in the bay window nook surrounded by Dot's treasures. The eclectic decor is a mix of Dot's favorite flea-market finds, diverse pieces she's collected on world travels and some pretty good artwork she's painted. Animal print fabrics and heirloom antiques pepper the guest sitting room, formal dining room and the four upstairs guest rooms. Rates are $95 to $125 a night (free Wi-Fi). Just like staying at your parent's house, bank on really good home cooking and sometimes hearing their favorite television show in your bedroom upstairs (the owner's TV den is below the king bedroom).
