Although Woodstock, Illinois, is the seat of McHenry County government, funky Blues Inspired tie-dye shop touts Woodstock's ties (in name) to the infamous love-in music festival. This store rocks. Tie-dye artists and McHenry County natives Andrew Bykowski and Morgan Raber create all their own funkadylic designs for far-out clothing and wall tapestries hanging about the store lit by black lights. Incense burns, lava lamps bubble and swirly patterned swaths of fabric called "tie-dye tapestries" billow from the ceiling as if in a Kasbah tent. Shoppers browse to the beat of a great 60s and 70s playlist of Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Santana and Led Zeppelin.Popular tie-dye T-shirt patterns are the yellow smiley face (or a Cyclops version), peace sign and heart (adult sweatshirt, $30; long sleeved tees, $18; regular T-shirts start, $11.75; and kid $9.75). Andrew's grandma sews the baggy, bell bottom "elephant pants" emblazoned with tornado swirls and bold zigzag stripes. So mom tossed your macrame purse, album collection and favorite band tee?
